Last night was our fifth wedding anniversary and we picked the most romantic place we know in Fort Lauderdale. The Secret Garden restaurant at The Pillars Hotel
We learned about it from a friend who had invited us there to celebrate her birthday earlier in the year. We became members shortly afterwards with her recommendation. The restaurant is not open to the public, only to members of the Secret Dining Club and hotel guests. We reserved a table on the dock. It was very romantic, all decorated in holiday lights. We sat watching the boats and yachts as they maneuver the intracoastal waterway and admiring the festive lights on the homes across the Intracoastal. The views are incredible and they’re reason enough to have dinner at The Secret Garden Restaurant.
The menu selection changes every night. I started with a watermelon salad which had feta cheese, argula and olives. My husband went for the mushroom soup. For dinner I had the filet mignon and my husband John had the pompano fish. The food was excellent. We were so full that we decided to skip desert.
The Pillars Hotel is a small boutique luxury hotel with only 18 guest rooms, five of which are suites, a three-bedroom private villa with a pool, and a custom luxury yacht charter service.
The villa starts at $3200 a week during the summer. The Pillars Hotel has a very cozy and elegant feel to it. It’s located right on the intracoastal waterways in Fort Lauderdale. It’s perfect for hosting a small party of around 35 guest.
The simple elegance of this wonderful hotel which is hidden away in Fort Lauderdale doesn’t disappoint anyone. It’s a great place for couples wanting to escape, but be close enough to the beach and all downtown Fort Lauderdale offers.
