I recently visited Belgium for the first time and had the pleasure of staying in the captivating city of Bruges, where history comes alive and every corner exudes charm. Among the cobblestone streets and picturesque canals lies the exquisite Hotel Heritage, an enchanting haven of luxury and refinement. A Glimpse into History:

Hotel Heritage is not only a testament to refined luxury but also a living piece of Bruges’ storied past. Housed within a meticulously restored 19th-century mansion, the building itself showcases architectural splendor and historical significance. Originally constructed as a private residence, it later became a bank before being transformed into the opulent hotel we know today. The hotel’s commitment to preserving the building’s heritage is evident in its intricate details, including ornate ceilings, grand staircases, and beautiful frescoes that whisper tales of a bygone era. It is easy to embrace the history as you wander through the hotel’s corridors and communal spaces, where the past meets the present in perfect harmony.

And speaking of communal spaces, their lobby lounge is a lovely place to enjoy a good book next to one of their giant teddy bears which really adds a fun touch to this historic room. There’s also a beautiful sitting room, with comfortable arm chairs, a fireplace, an honesty bar cart, chess board, and piano. This relaxing room leads into the hotel’s cozy bar, Le Magnum, which is open daily until 1 am.

A Classic Room:

With 22 elegant rooms in total, this is truly a boutique hotel. We stayed in one of their Classic Rooms which offered a timeless retreat for our weekend getaway in Bruges. Our tastefully decorated room featured a harmonious blend of antique furnishings, luxurious fabrics, and modern amenities such as an iPad and Nespresso machine. You will sleep very well thanks to their incredibly comfortable Nilson beds which are organic, and handmade in the Netherlands.

I appreciated the little touches such as fresh fruit, water, and snacks waiting for us upon arrival as well as an evening turn down service. Whether you choose a room overlooking the tranquil courtyard or one with a view of Bruges’ charming streets, you’ll find solace and tranquility in any of the rooms at Hotel Heritage.

Breakfast at Le Mystique:

Breakfast at Hotel Heritage is a luxurious experience in their Le Mystique restaurant. Nestled within the historic walls of the hotel, this exquisite dining venue exudes elegance and charm with its high ceilings, chandeliers, and a grand breakfast buffet display. Expect an array of delectable delights to suit every palate, beautifully laid out, featuring freshly baked pastries, artisan bread, local cheeses, carefully curated charcuterie, fresh fruits, yogurts, and so much more.

I especially loved drinking their freshly squeezed orange juice, which you could add champagne to if you’d like a mimosa! Starting our days off at Le Mystique each morning really helped set the stage for perfect days of exploration in Bruges.

Spa Le Moment:

While the spa at Hotel Heritage is very small, it is definitely worth a visit. In all of the bedrooms and throughout the spa, Sothys products are used. This luxury French brand has been around since 1946, providing high quality wellness products for men and women so I was pleased to see their products at Hotel Heritage!

Be sure to reserve your spa appointment in advance, and I highly recommend their total body massage including face and scalp. But there’s an array of treatments to choose from, including facials, peels, manicures, pedicures and more. This wellness area also includes a sauna, Hammam, and a small fitness center located in their 14th century monumental cellar.

Hotel Heritage is located in the historic city center of Bruges which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You are walking distance to all the main points of interest including the Belfry tower, Market Place, Church of Our Lady, and more. The lovely hotel staff were always so helpful in answering our questions and recommending the best places to eat nearby.
