It is well known that the Galapagos Islands are a delicately balanced ecosystem, as well as being a popular travel destination. Now, travelers who wish to see the Galapagos but are environmentally conscious may rest easy with Ecoventura’s newest vessel, MV Origin.
This premium class vessel which departs from San Cristobal Island on February 28, 2016, has been positioned to redefine the cruising experience by combining modern sophistication with environmental responsibility. The alternating seven-night A & B itineraries are designed to reduce the impact of visits to the islands and their most popular sites.

On February 28 the B itinerary will begin on the northwestern route. On this trip there are chances to see the Galapagos Tortoises in the highlands and the Red Footed and Nazca Booby at Genovesa. On Isabela take a dip in the water to snorkel with penguins, and marvel at the volcanic formations of Fernandina. Take the opportunity to kayak at Darwin Bay and Tagus Cove, and relish breathtaking whale and dolphin sightings.
MV Origin’s maiden voyage on itinerary A departs March 6, around the southern central route. Highlights include visiting Pinnacle Rock on Bartolome; the chance to see all three boobies (Nazca, Blue and Red Footed), as well as Frigatebirds. Guests can take a dive and go snorkeling with Galapagos penguins, or see giant tortoises in the highlands. On Espanola there is a chance to see the Waived Albatross, and at Cerro Brujo and Gardner Bay, have the thrill of kayaking and swimming with sea lions.
Both itineraries include daily, personalized excursions out, with optional snorkel and kayak tours led by the two onboard, certified naturalists.

If guests ever need a rest from all the off ship activities, the 20-passenger mega yacht features 10 deluxe staterooms and various onboard amenities such as locally inspired gourmet cuisine, a Jacuzzi and a fitness center. There are both indoor and outdoor social and observation areas for indulging in the beautiful views offered by the island and the sea.

Rates for 2016 start at $6,500 per person, and includes all meals and snacks, alcoholic beverages, a Captain’s welcome and farewell cocktail, and the guided shore excursions with snorkel equipment and sea kayaks.

It’s like being on your own private yacht with such a small group of people. I agree the interior looks very roomy.
