Not only am I so lucky to live in Florida where it’s sunny year round, but I am also close to some exciting destinations. I recently enjoyed a 2-night cruise to the Bahamas thanks to Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line! We sailed on their stunning Grand Classica Ship from the Port of Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island. This is the absolute perfect choice for a fun and luxurious weekend getaway. I was impressed to discover that they set sail every single day of the week, therefore, anyone can find a day that suits their schedule!
My adventure began the moment I stepped foot onto the ship where I had the opportunity to meet Captain Meinhardt and other crew members on the Bridge. We were able to see the ship set sail and depart West Palm Beach and start making its way to Freeport, Bahamas! It was a very exciting experience and a great way to start the journey.
Accommodations onboard the Grand Classica
We then excitedly checked into our spacious Grand Terrace Suite, one of ten luxury suites on board. This is the absolute best way to cruise in paradise. These suites are located on deck 10 (the top level), and provide the perfect private getaway. With a comfortable queen bed and pull out sofa, the Grand Terrace Suite can comfortably sleep 4 people.
The closet space was incredibly generous, especially for a cruise ship. However, my favorite aspect of the room was definitely the scenic balcony where I enjoyed lounging in the mornings.
I also really loved how the bathroom not only had a shower but a large jetted tub as well.
Dining onboard the Grand Classica
It’s worth pointing out that no matter what type of room you’re staying in, there is 24-hour complimentary room service offered to satisfy your cravings anytime during the day or night! Speaking of food, with over half a dozen eateries on board the Grand Classica, you are sure to find something to your liking.
Our first evening we had dinner with Captain Meinhardt and other crew members at the Admiral’s Steak & Seafood restaurant. The baked goat cheese soufflé appetizer was delicious and I enjoyed a filet mignon for my main course. All their beef is 100% Natural Black Angus Beef from 150 year old Revier® Family Farm in Olivia, Minnesota.
A culinary highlight on our trip was at the Rock Grill on board. Dining here is a unique and interactive experience. Every table comes with a lava rock grill where we get to watch quality meats and fresh veggies cook before our very eyes! You can even participate and help with the cooking if that interests you. I ordered the surf and turf and enjoyed every bite of the juicy steak and flavorful lobster. Thanks to the amazing food paired with stunning ocean views, we absolutely loved dining at the Rock Grill.
Excursions
I could easily spend all day relaxing on board the Grand Classica, but Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line also had exciting plans for us on shore once we arrived on Grand Bahama Island. We started off by touring The Perfume Factory in Freeport. We went behind the scenes and saw the inner workings of a working fragrance production operation. My favorite part was getting to mix my own special fragrance, bottle it, and take it home as a souvenir! After our fascinating visit, we headed off to a delicious lunch nearby at Sabor Restaurant & Bar. I enjoyed the fantastically fresh Wahoo fish.
Our day rounded off nicely with a visit to Bahama Bay to take in the views of the beach. It was a perfectly sunny day with fluffy clouds and blue skies. I enjoyed walking up and down the pristine sandy beaches and feeling the warm ocean water wash over my feet.
We also visited Garden of the Groves before heading back to the ship. Exploring this beautiful botanical garden was so much fun, and I particularly enjoyed walking the winding trails through lush vegetation and seeing cascading waterfalls!
Entertainment Onboard the Grand Classica
While back on board, we had the opportunity to see the Let’s Dance! Production Show performance by the talented Grand Classica Singers & Dancers! This high-energy show features stunning choreography with hits from around the world. We got to sick back after a fun day of exploration to enjoy the unparalleled vocals and moves of their performers.
Along with live theater, you can also laugh your heart out at a comedy show, channel your inner diva at karaoke, or slow dance to live jazz music. Sunrise to sunset, there is also something fun to do on board the Grand Classica!
We also treat ourself to some Vegas-style glitz and glamor by stopping at the Par-A-Dice casino after the evening show. From thrilling table games to a variety of slot machines, it really has it all. The evening turned out to be a great one because I ended doubling my money on the roulette table!
Indulgence Spa and Fitness Center on Grand Classica
After a night of entertainment and a day of exploring, the spa might be calling our name! Luckily, the Indulgence Spa on Grand Classica is the perfect place to enjoy healing and rejuvenation. Thanks to the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy and their essentials oils blend that they craft just for you, it is very easy to release your stress here. Their full-service spa and salon offers treatments of all kinds and caters to both mean and women.
I was impressed with their talented professionals after receiving a hot stone Swedish massage for an hour. They work hard to make sure your experience feels personal and are amazing at creating the ultimate relaxation space. My friend also enjoyed a deep tissue massage which she thoroughly enjoyed!
If the delicious and endless amounts of food feels like it’s catching up with you, then you’re also in luck thanks to their Fitness Center on board! With wide, open sea views from almost every angle, you can gaze out onto the turquoise waves while working out hard on their exercise equipment or with free weights.
Poolside Paradise Onboard
The top deck on the Grand Classica is the most scenic where you can lounge poolside in the sun by day or under the stars at night. There are two fabulous pools to choose from, the first being the main pool which is family-friendly. You can splash in the water, listen to live Caribbean music, all while ordering tropical drinks from the Plunge Bar. If you’re looking for a more quiet and serene atmosphere, the adults-only pool is the place to be. I really enjoyed having a choice between the two and visited both for some poolside fun and sun!
If you’re interested in a quick and easy getaway to the Bahamas, Paradise Cruise Line offers the absolute best experience on board luxury ships! With their attentive service, spacious accommodation, fine dining, and exciting excursions, you will enjoy every minute of your vacation.

December 12, 2018 at 11:49 amWhat a nice little getaway from Florida! The excursions, particularly the perfume-making experience, are not what I would have expected for a Bahama cruise. Overall, looks like good food, entertainment, and memories!
