Antigua Yacht Charter Highlights

Relatively untouched when the devastating Hurricane Irma swept through the Caribbean last September, Antigua was one of the first islands to re-open for business in its wake. Now, more than a year on, the island continues to reinforce its position as one of the region’s premier yachting centres. With events such as the Antigua Yacht CharterShow and sensational regattas bringing many a yachting enthusiast to her shores, Antigua is demonstrating to the world that the region is ready to host one of its best ever yacht charter seasons.

Yachting Hotspots

Much of the attraction of Antigua is her natural beauty; after all, Antigua is an island that has one beach for every day of the year. Pigeon Beach is one of the best stretches of pure white sand, while Nonsuch Bay and Picsart Bay are the standout anchorages and the perfect spot to make the most of the watertoys on board your yacht.

For some more quintessential Antigua yacht charter experiences, rum punch at Mary’s Shack and the Sunday sunset party at Shirley Heights are a must. Those seeking a touch of upscale luxury should drop anchor off Carlisle Bay resort and take the tender in for an afternoon of pampering at the award-winning Blue Spa.

Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta

Should you be sailing Antigua’s waters towards the end of the season, the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta is your destination. The famed occasion for sailing enthusiasts from around the world who descend upon the island season-end, experience an event where the competition of racing meets Antigua’s famous hospitality: six classes of yachts (traditional, vintage, classic, classic GPR, spirit of the tradition, and tall ships) will compete over four days off the south coast of the island, before returning back to English Harbour ready for the evening’s entertainment. The 2019 Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta runs from April 17th– 23rd.

Three Superyachts For An Antigua Yacht Charter

Each year, Antigua plays host to the Antigua Yacht Charter Show – where brokerage houses send the best of their charter fleet to mark the beginning of the Caribbean charter season. As doors to the Antigua Show are not open to the public, we have selected three of the very best yachts for charter that will be on display this year:

The 38m luxury Ferretti Custom Line M/Y VISTA BLUE was delivered in 2018. The floor-to-ceiling main saloon windows and glass aft-door installed at a 45-degree angle are just some of the features that demonstrate her incredible design innovation. The brief was to bring the outside in and the result is light and spacious interiors, warm tones and a modern, stylish feel. With a beach club, sundeck Jacuzzi, and an array of tenders and toys, M/Y VISTA BLUE is an ideal choice for Christmas and New Year Antigua yacht charters and can accommodate 12 guests in five staterooms.

From master Dutch yacht builders Oceanco, M/Y LUCKY LADY overflows with luxury touches. Launched in 2002, with a refit in 2017, this 62.61m yacht for charter is the epitome of elegance and her grand interior spaces, such as the main saloon, dining room and skyline, are perfect for entertaining. Yet this is a yacht that also knows how to have fun with an oversized waterfall Jacuzzi and PGA Golf Tee (with golf balls made from fish food) on the sundeck, as well as an extensive selection of tenders and toys. Ten guests can be accommodated in five well-appointed staterooms, including a private Owner’s upper deck

Fresh from an extensive 2018 refit, M/Y JAZZ is ready for a memorable yacht charter season cruising the clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean. This 30.23m Benetti yacht already enjoys an excellent charter record thanks to her dedicated crew, onboard collection of watertoys, and generous exterior deck spaces and lounging areas. Other stand-out features include zero-speed stabilizers and a convertible, four-stateroom layout for eight guests.
