EUROPE, LIFESTYLE, LUXURY TRAVEL DESTINATIONS, TRAVEL, UNITED KINGDOM

Luxury holidays can be found all over the UK, whether it’s staying in a plush luxury cottage in the Lake District or a lavish holiday home in Perthshire. The UK is home to exciting sights and places you may not know existed. On your luxury holiday in the country, explore the nation by staying in some lavish holiday cottages, perfect for a romantic getaway, solo trip, or family breaks. Here’s where to go in the UK for a luxurious break…

#1 Keswick, The Lake District

Keswick is one of the most beautiful lake towns within the Lake District. This busy market town lies in the northern part of the Lake District, offering tons of things to do and places to explore. Famous for its scenic walks, historic landmarks, picturesque views, and relaxing atmosphere, Keswick makes for a perfect destination for a luxurious break in the UK.

The best way to enjoy your holiday in Keswick is to stay at a luxury holiday cottage. These are fully furnished accommodations with luxury facilities and amenities, overlooking the lovely views of the lake. Once you find the perfect place to stay, it’s time for sightseeing. Hop on a boat and explore Derwentwater, one of the bodies of water in the Lake District National Park. The trip should take less than an hour, taking you past beautiful islands, including Lord’s Island and St Herbert’s Island. If you prefer to explore on land, get on a bike to explore the town. Visit beautiful attractions like the picturesque Ashness Bridge, a stone bridge built on a single-track road. Cycle further up, and you’ll reach the Surprise Viewpoint, where you can marvel at the jaw-dropping views of Derwentwater with the stunning mountains in the backdrop.

#2 Pembrokeshire, Wales

You’ll find some of the best beaches in Wales in Pembrokeshire. These beaches are not only beautiful but relatively uncrowded, ranging from hidden coves to traditional seaside resorts. Wales is also home to many areas of outstanding natural beauty, making it a great place to visit for a luxurious break.

When looking for the best places to stay in Wales, you will find several luxury accommodations in Pembrokeshire. From traditional farm cottages to stylish bungalows, Pembrokeshire is a truly wonderful place for a relaxing luxury break. Some accommodations are within the seaside resort towns, with easy access to Wales’ best beaches. If you’re here for the beach, consider staying at these cottages. Some of the best beaches to visit in Pembrokeshire are Barafundle Bay and Marloes Sands. While Pembrokeshire is all about relaxing, there are also plenty of fun activities to keep you entertained. You can take up windsurfing, surfing, sailing, and kayaking at various coastal centres or go horseback riding. Like most areas in Wales, Pembrokeshire is a haven for outdoor adventures.

#3 Padstow, Cornwall

Padstow is a gorgeous fishing port in North Cornwall that has risen in popularity as a holiday destination in recent years. Home to a charming harbour, this bustling town is a perfect choice for your luxurious break in the UK. Whilst Padstow is not a popular beach destination, it is home to some of the UK’s prettiest beaches. What’s more, these beaches are easily accessible from the harbour. Hawker’s Cove and St George’s Cove are some of the best beaches worth a visit. Meanwhile, Prideaux Place, an Elizabethan country house built in 1592, has a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a scenic stroll.

If you’re fond of walking or cycling, you will find several recreational trails in Padstow to tackle, such as the Camel Trail, which follows the former North Cornwall Railway route. This 17-mile route has no steep inclines, so it’s easy to walk or cycle through. It starts in Padstow, passing through Wadebridge and into Blisland. If you prefer to explore the water, take a boat trip from the Padstow harbour. As you explore the coast, you’ll have the opportunity to take up fun activities like wildlife spotting or angling. For those into surfing you could also walk /surf around the coast and end up at a relaxing surf retreat in Mawgan Porth, perfect for mid week getaways.

#4 Perthshire, Scotland

Boasting stunning landscapes of gorgeous mountains, rivers, and lakes, Perthshire is one of Scotland’s playgrounds for adventures. It is a great place to have a luxurious, activity-filled break, where you can go hiking, biking, angling, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more!

Secluded but not far from civilisation, Perthshire has many beautiful villages where you can enjoy a scenic stroll. Explore Perth, the capital, and a good base for exploring Perthshire. The city is compact and easy to get around. From art galleries to public parks and excellent dining places, you will have plenty to explore in Perth. Head to the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre to observe some exciting animals, and if you’re travelling with the kids, head for the ActiveKid Adventure Park. It’s a working farm with facilities for kids’ entertainment, such as trampolines and climbing frames. For a truly luxurious holiday in Perthshire, stay at the Auchterarder House. This spacious holiday home is ideal for families and big groups looking for luxury accommodation. It’s set in a 20-acre private ground with exceptionally spacious and comfortable bedrooms.

#5 The New Forest, England

There’s no other place in Southern England that offers vast open spaces, offering plenty of outdoor activities and incredible wildlife. A true haven for nature lovers, New Forest is an ideal destination for an outdoorsy, luxurious break. Explore Forest’s scenic footpaths, which consist of flat terrains. While walking is great, cycling is even better. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. If you are lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the five different species of deer, although your best chance of seeing them is at the Bolderwood Fallow Deer Viewing Platform. Visit Lyndhurst, home to the New Forest Visitor Centre, which houses a museum, and lots of hands-on exhibits, with a chance to learn more about New Forest.

Consider staying in a treehouse on your holiday in the New Forest. Set right in the middle of the woods, the treehouses are fitted with modern amenities, allowing for a truly luxurious stay. You will also get access to facilities similar to a luxury resort, such as pools and hot tubs.
