It’s been over 21 years since a resort has been built in the Upper Keys, but the much anticipated Playa Largo Resort & Spa just had the honor of greeting guests into this incredible 144-room paradise. Playa Largo is the 100th addition to the Autograph Collection Hotels, with over 14 waterfront acres as well as ten secluded bungalows and a luxurious beach-house complete with three bedrooms and its own plunge pool.
“Playa Largo was conceived from a desire to offer visitors to Key Largo a luxurious and modern full-service resort option – something that until now wasn’t available here,” said general manager Shakir Hussain. “We are redefining what it means to travel to the Florida Keys and are thrilled to be welcoming our first guests this week and our first groups soon after.”

Perfect for any number of events, Playa Largo Resort & Spa boasts both a beautiful green lawn and a 6,000 square foot ballroom. In addition to the 745 feet of beach landscape, guests can enjoy the private marina and watersport rentals, sport courts (both tennis and basketball), and a well-stocked fitness center. The Ocean Spa offers a full range of options to truly experience luxury and relaxation. Onsite dining offers Las Olas ceviche and sushi bar as well as Sol by the Sea, providing glittering views of the waterfront and delicious fresh-caught seafood. There is also a traditional steakhouse, La Marea.
Playa Largo Resort & Spa owes its grand opening to the well-known Prime Hospitality Group and to Shaner Hotels, a pioneer in the hospitality industry. The relaxing Caribbean-inspired appearance is owed to Prime Design Associates, LLC while the talented Gettys Group can be thanked for the interior design elements.

September 7, 2016 at 5:38 pmWhen you do come to the U.S, you definitely need to visit the Florida Keys. The keys are very laided-back and relaxing.

September 8, 2016 at 9:40 amI didn’t think the price was so expensive considering what I’ve seen other hotels charging for rooms in the keys.

September 8, 2016 at 9:41 amIt was about time that they added a new resort in the keys. Some of the others resort were starting to feel a little outdated.

September 8, 2016 at 9:42 amYou don’t have to be a luxurious traveler to try out one of these hotels. The room prices aren’t out of this world.

September 8, 2016 at 10:20 amIt has a nice touch of elegance and charm that was needed in the Upper Keys needed. The last time a resort opened in the mainline Keys was in 1993.

September 9, 2016 at 12:58 pmOne of my favorite things about being in the keys is that the area is very tranquil and surreal.

September 9, 2016 at 1:52 amLooks like an amazing hotel! Much nicer than where I stayed after road tripping down to Key Largo years ago with my parents. The keys are such an amazing place that most people haven’t even seen. Makes me want to go back. I just have to get myself back stateside first.

September 9, 2016 at 1:06 pmMy parents love going to the keys when they come to visit. It’s definitely a step up from some of the other hotels in the keys that haven’t been updated in years.

September 9, 2016 at 7:59 amThis looks luxurious, indeed! Haven’t been to Florida, but I am originally from Philippines and we do have our fair share of beautiful beach resorts. Maybe you should try and go visit. It would be a nice experience to travel over here, I can vouch for that.
