5 Ways To Add Luxury To Your Holiday

We all work hard for our money and we all need to escape from time to time, so when it comes to booking a holiday, make sure you go for something fabulous, luxurious and special. If you’ve waited all year for your break, don’t settle for a lacklustre fly-and-flop package deal to an anonymous beach. Factor in sunset cocktails, relaxing spa treatments, infinity pools and boutique-style rooms and you’ll come back refreshed and ready to plan your next indulgent break.

Select your destination wisely

Choose a destination that fits the bill. If you’re after tropical shores and swaying palms, go for Caribbean islands such as Antigua, Turks & Caicos or St Lucia. The Maldives, with their string of exclusive resorts and picture-perfect islands, are also worth considering. However, if you’re more into cosmopolitan chic, consider city destinations such as Rome, Madrid or Paris which offer an array of sightseeing and dining opportunities, plus iconic attractions such as the Eiffel Tower to enjoy.

Upgrade your plane ticket

There’s nothing like travelling first class, so if you haven’t already booked this option it’s worth trying to blag an upgrade on the day. If you don’t ask, you don’t get, and if there’s availability upgrading for free or at a reduced price may be an option. When you check in for your flight ask about this possibility and if you do get it, you’ll enjoy extra legroom, better menu options and a host of other indulgent extras that make you feel like a VIP.

Book a room with extras

If you’re going for a luxury break then go all out! A few little extras will make all the difference to your stay so find out if your hotel has the option of swim-up rooms, hot tubs or al fresco jacuzzi options. What could be better than ordering a bottle of something fizzy and fabulous and relaxing with your other half in your very own private sanctuary? Do a spot of online research before booking your break to find the best hotels with hot tubs and a world of relaxation awaits. Many top-class hotels will offer a turndown service, too, which means your beds will be refreshed each day, often with a chocolate left on your pillow and your fluffy towels elegantly presented.

Go all-inclusive

If you want luxury but want to keep track of the pennies, go for a four- or five-star all-inclusive resort. Most will offer an extensive selection of dining options, including buffets and a la carte. You’ll also find plenty of bars and al fresco terraces for pre-dinner cocktails. The best thing is that with an all-inclusive holiday, your meals, locally produced drinks and a selection of activities will already be included in the upfront price of your break.

Pick a hotel with onsite spa

There’s nothing that makes you feel more special or relaxed than to enjoy a spot of pampering, so choose a hotel with its own spa – you’ll be able to enjoy a host of treatments such as massages, facials and more, just a few steps from your door. After a few hours of indulgence, you can head back to your fabulous room for an afternoon siesta before dressing up and heading out for your evening meal.

We all deserve some luxury in our lives, so make sure your next break fits the bill. A little research before you book will make all the difference to your experience and the deal you get – don’t settle for less than luxury!

  1. No one knows luxury like you, Carmen!! I’m personally not a big fan of all inclusive because I love to get out and explore the local tastes, but the on site spa, ensuite hot tub , al fresco jacuzzis and a little bubbly on the boirdoire sounds absolutely delicious!

  2. I’ve usually found that if you go all inclusive you can usually end up saving quite a bit especially if you will be taking alcohol and soft drinks at the hotel bars.

  3. I have nothing against enjoying luxury accommodations or perks, but unless they’re offered complimentary, my budget just never allows for it. However, the few times I have been upgraded on airlines, that has been just wonderful!!

  4. These are all great ways to make a holiday more upscale. I always try to upgrade my plane ticket. Doesn’t always work out, but it feels so nice when it does!
