5 Luxury Destinations in Europe for a Romantic Getaway

When planning a romantic getaway heading off to a secluded island resort isn’t everyone’s idea of romantic. With Europe being home to some of the most beautiful islands and stunning cities in the world, here’s 5 luxury destinations within Europe for you to enjoy a romantic break:

Beautiful white buildings, endless cobbles, delicious cheese boards and spending your nights drinking Merlot in quaint Montmatre cafes, Paris is known as the city of love for a reason. Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Laudree on the Champs De Elysee with some gourmet macaroons for desert then saunter down to the Jardin Des Tuilieres and admire the beauty of the city.

Rome + The Amalfi Coast

Not a city to be discounted as simply for art fans and history enthusiasts, Rome is most certainly a city for lovers. Enchanting, unspoilt and charming, Rome is both culturally and visually stunning. With candle lit tables for two in sun soaked piazzas, it’s the perfect city to indulge in delicious food and copious amounts of prosecco to celebrate your wedding. After a whirlwind city break, head to the Amalfi coast afterwards with Exsus Travel to extend your holiday in the picturesque towns enjoying some of Italy’s most beautiful views.

From the vibrant nightlife to spending days on the sun drenched beach to sampling some of Europe’s best shopping and some wonderful architecture. I’ve visited Venice several times with my husband and kids. We love strolling around the little side streets and finding new restaurants and shops to explore. Have a great time in Venice!

  2. Drool… I love everything on this list, but Santorini is the spot I’ve been most aching to go. Every photo if it is out of this world.

We loved Santorini! We spend three days in Oia, and it was very relaxing and of course very romantic. The sunsets at night are out of this world.

  3. Somehow none of these places occurred to me as a luxury destination, I guess that’s because they are rather close to me and I’ve been to them all. Oh no wait, not to Santorini but I was close. Loved them all, although I’d definitely avoid Venice in the summer 🙂

I can see that if you live near by. It’s the same for us here. People come from all over the world to spend a few days in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. I’ve never been to Venice in the summer, only in the fall or springtime.

  4. You should visit Barcelona on Sant Jordi day, its so romantic and beautiful for everyone! Roses and books everywhere.

I heard of Sant Jordi Day in Barcelona, a day of books and romance. You’re right, I should go someday.

  5. In my mind nothing beats Paris – I keep meaning to go back because I remember finding the roof restaurant at the top of Pretempts and want to go back and take some pictures. Very romantic!

    • Carmen Edelson

Without a doubt, Paris ranks first in the list of the most romantic cities thanks to places like the Pretempts with such wonderful views.

  6. Santorini must be gorgeous, I’ve always wanted to go there! (Barcelona is great, although not my favourite place in Europe) Rome is another one on my list – can’t wait to explore the city in October! 🙂

  7. Thanks for the list. Every place looks nice. But I better not share this with my wife or we will have problems:)

    • Carmen Edelson

All are incredible places, maybe your wife will want to go to all of them for a wedding anniversary, so you’ll really be in trouble.

  8. I’ve been to some but not all of these! I can’t wait to check out the last two, especially Santorini.
