The Top 5 Reasons to Visit Malibu This Memorial Day Weekend

CALIFORNIA

With Memorial Day weekend almost upon us, there’s one last chance to treat yourself to the rest and relaxation you so desperately deserve before the long, hot summer days arrive. Widely regarded as one of the United States’ most beautiful locations, Malibu provides the perfect destination for a long weekend, offering up sun, sand, and shopping in a single stunning coastal enclave. Before tourists descend on every beach in America this June, give yourself some time to recharge with a trip to Malibu this Memorial Day weekend. Here’s what to do while you’re there:

Take a wine hike: Nothing pairs better with a Malibu vacation than a glass of Malibu wine. Fortunately, this California city is home to some of the world’s best vineyards, including Saddlerock Ranch, which you can enjoy firsthand by signing up for the Malibu Countryside Wine Hike. Get in your workout for the day and enjoy a glass of the winery’s famous sparkling rosĆ© or refreshing sauvignon blanc on this unique vineyard tour.

Learn to surf at Zuma Beach: One of the best beaches for surfing in the country, Zuma Beach is the perfect place to test your mettle on the water. Whether you’re a first-time surfer or a seasoned pro, the perfect surfing conditions and natural beauty of Zuma Beach are sure to win you over.

Check out Escondido Falls: If you’re eager to take some Instagram-worthy pics on your vacation, there’s no better place to do it than Escondido Falls. After walking for about four miles along Escondido Canyon Trail, past some of Malibu’s most inventive architecture and lush vegetation, you’ll hit this 150-foot, three-tiered waterfall, the perfect spot to relax and snap a few photos before you head back down.

Hit the hills in Solstice Canyon: Get in your daily cardio and enjoy some of the most beautiful views of Malibu by taking a hike in Solstice Canyon. This beautiful park is home to a wide variety of Malibu wildlife, from birds to butterflies, and offers a diverse array of trails catering to new hikers and experienced climbers alike.

Grab some must-haves at Malibu Country Mart: Whether you’re eager to see local celebs or just grab a cup of coffee, Malibu Country Mart is a must-see when you’re in the area. Shop stores like Calypso St. Barth, John Varvatos, and Vince, grab a drink from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, or loosen up at the end of a long day with a class at the Malibu Country Mart outpost of Pure Barre.

Whether you’re hitting the beach or hitting the wine trail, Malibu is the perfect place spend this Memorial Day weekend. Give yourself the break you deserve by spending some time in this waterfront paradise this Memorial Weekend and return to your real life feeling relaxed and re-energized!

I’ve driven through Malibu but haven’t had the chance to explore it. Wine tasting is right up my street so I would love to do this!

Wow! There’s something for everyone in Malibu! I’m a natural attractions kinda gal who loves my food, so a wine hike sounds like the ideal way to see the highlights! And who says I can’t get more of both by sneaking in a visit to the Country mart? Awesome!

The first picture itself is inspiration enough. The way the light falls on the rows of trees is magical. I almost mistook it for fairy lights.

I didn’t know about Escondido Falls (I guess that’s how it got it’s name!). I’ll have to be sure to take that in the next time we visit Malibu. It’s such a beautiful place…
