Rosewood Georgia Hotel – 5 Star Luxury Boutique Hotel Overview

I want to tell you about our experience at one of Vancouver’s luxury boutique hotels:  Rosewood Hotel Georgia.  This 5 Star hotel is full of amenities and has a world class charm that would be hard to match.  With three restaurants (one on the rooftop), a lounge, concierge, free Wi-Fi, a spa, pool and gym, you don’t need to leave the hotel to be pampered.

The hotel is situated right in the heart of downtown Vancouver with nearly everything within walking distance, and directly across from the Vancouver Art Gallery and Pacific Centre Mall.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and assisted by the friendliest staff ever!   The lobby area has a world class charm with dark wood walls and marble floors.   Behind the lobby front desk I noticed a collection of all types of perfumes.   When I asked what the perfumes were for, they said it was for guest to use in case they forget to bring theirs.  Every time they went out,  my daughters went to the front desk and tested a different perfume.

Another thing that immediately caught my attention was a painting in the lobby called “Internity – Artist Patrick Hughes”.  It was a scene of the canals of Venice.   The painting provides an amazing 3D illusion that seems to change and follow me as I moved around the room. It’s a form of art called Reverspective.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia Bathroom

After check-in we were escorted to our Deluxe Guest Room. Our room had a king size bed with a desk and chair on one side. The bathroom was very large with big tub in the center, a rain shower to one side and the toilet on the opposite wall behind frosted glass. It had two completely separated vanities with sinks on opposite sides, which made me very happy. The hotel provided us with bathrobes and slippers. In the evening the bathroom lit up with “night” lights.  The view outside our room overlooked the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Our kids stayed in a connecting Deluxe Double Room.  Our housekeeper showed up immediately after we arrived with an ice bucket and fresh baked cookies for everyone.   My son’s first experience with a rain shower was at the Hotel Georgia and he has been asking ever since about getting a rain shower for home.

The hotel has a variety of restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Bel Cafe  is located right outside the hotel lobby area and is an ideal place to grab a quick breakfast bite, or a morning coffee. They serve a sumptuous lunch with a selection of sandwiches and salads to choose from. We enjoyed the croissants for breakfast in the morning before heading out for the day.  I had a delicious eggplant sandwich for lunch.

Reflections  is an outdoor rooftop patio restaurant on 4th floor next to the spa open to the public  and guests. They offers an excellent menu with healthy options for lunch and dinner.  The views of the city are amazing since you’re surrounded by high rises.  It’s a great spot to hang out (people watch), and have a drink.  It becomes quite a scene in the evening.  Make sure to dress up in the evening, everyone does.

Hawksworth Restaurant in Rosewood  HoteGeorgia

It’s a stylish restaurant located in the lobby floor of the Georgia Hotel, Hawksworth is a lively place with a warm ambience, nice bar area, and most importantly a terrific menu.  To dine at Hawksworth restaurant on a regular basis, would be prohibitive unless one is blessed by an ample expense account, but for special occasions it is ideal.

1927 Lobby Lounge

The 1927 Lobby Lounge, a contemporary tribute to the hotel’s grand opening year, is a cozy and trendy venue with retro cocktails and casual fare.  It was one of my favorite places to relax and work on my travel blog while savoring the ambience and enjoying a drink.  Many locals find it ideal for having work related meetings, having a relaxing cocktail before dinner or enjoying an evening nightcap.

After eating in all their delicious restaurants.  You can burn off some calories by working out in their fitness center or swim some laps in their lap pool.  The family enjoyed the use of all of their facilities and even had a massage at Sense Spa.

Finally, on one of the days that the family decided to venture off on bikes at Stanley Park, I decided to go down to the cruise terminal and walk around.  The hotel concierge arranged for their driver to drop me off in the hotels Bentley.   That was a treat!

Our family really enjoyed our five day stay at Hotel Georgia, a totally impeccable 5 Star experience.  If we happen to travel through Vancouver again, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Looks like a stunning hotel! Will definitely have to keep it in mind when I eventually make it to Canada.

Hi Erin, It’s a wonderful place to stay in downtown Vancouver. Worth every penny if you are looking for a traditional five-star grand hotel experience.

Wow, no kidding. Fit for royalty. I like the idea of a 3D painting, I’ve never seen one.

Hi Anda. Yes, it’s definitely a place fit for a king. Especially, the Rossewood Suite which has an amazing outdoor patio area. When I got home I researched the artist and fell in love with some of his other pieces. even his paintings look 3D.

I have zero plans to be in that part of the world, but this hotel has me thinking ‘I should go!’. What a place. Thanks for hosting this week and sharing such a cool place.

Hi SJ, It was my first time in Canada, and we couldn’t of picked a better place to stay. Expensive for worth every penny.

Wow—absolutely incredible! The interior design is so sleek and modern, kind of surprising when you see the building from the outside, which has a more classic look (at least from that angle). I’m a little surprised that it has free WiFi, to be honest. So far, it’s been my experience that the more expensive the hotel, the more likely you’ll pay for WiFi! Maybe I’ve just been frequenting the wrong expensive hotels 🙂

Hi Ryan, I’ve had that same experience with most hotels charging for WiFi. In our case since we have so many devices to connect (5 people), we have to upgrade the package to accommodate everyones smart phones. The hotel itself has been around since 1927, but underwent a major remodel in 2011. They really went all out.

I’ve been to Vancouver numerous times and I never knew such a lavish place existed there (though given the wealth of the city, I shouldn’t be too surprised!) I’ll have to have my honeymoon in the city, and stay here whilst doing so!

Hi Selma, They have a beautiful banquet hall which is used for wedding receptions. It’s a great location and would be the perfect place to stay for your honeymoon.

What a gorgeous hotel, it definitely looks like a place I’d seek out. I’ve never stayed at a Rosewood propety, looks like I need to change that!

Hi Brianna, We had never stayed at any other Rosewood properties either. It was our first time. Based on the service that we experienced, I’ll definitely have to check up all their other locations.

This place looks SO AWESOME! I love the 1927 bar! And the art on the walls. It looks like quite the life of luxury. I’d love to stay here when I visit Vancouver, it looks so elegant yet really comfortable!

Hi Lauren, The 1927 Lounge was my favorite place to work and hang out for a few hours. They really know how to pamper the guest and make them feel special.

This looks so beautiful and fancy! If I only stayed at that tub and pool throughout the stay, I’d be a happy person. I love that it offers so much for everyone. I may need to look into this the next time we’re in Vancouver even if just to peek into the lobby. What a great virtual tour!

Hi Mary, It’s an incredible property and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we return to Vancouver one day.
