Guests can now turn up the volume and amplify their experience at several Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos around the world with the new “The Sound of Your Stay” program. This program is designed to provide a free all-encompassing music experience unlike anywhere else in the comfort of a hotel room. Everything needed for this rock star getaway is right here – Fender guitars, a personalized playlist, mixing equipment, even a VIP tour of the music memorabilia around the hotel.
And of course, the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando, is now offering this new and exciting package and I was lucky to get a chance to experience “The Sound of Your Stay” myself!
The Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort is in the heart of it all. It’s walking distance to the area’s thrilling theme parks and is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing vacation or family fun.
Walk This Way
Upon checking in at the front desk reception area, I let them know that I was ready to jam out with my Fender guitar! Inside my key envelope was a code that allowed me to download a playlist of songs from some of the biggest names in music industry. They even have the option of streaming the entire track online via their website.
In My Room
Once in my room a surprise was waiting for me. A delicious array of chocolate sweets including a chocolate guitar with two bottles of water were sitting on the counter.
Each of the hotel’s newly remodeled 650 guest rooms and suites offers the perfect mix of funk, stylish furnishings, and rock ‘n’ roll artwork with all the amenities to get away from adoring fans.
Once all settled in the room, all that’s left to do is call the front desk and choose from an enticing menu of 20 Fender guitars, including Stratocasters, Telecasters, and even basses to strike a chord during the stay. They deliver the pre-reserved Fender guitar, complete with floor amp, and Blue Mo-Fi headphones to rock out in the hotel room without disturbing the other guests. I chose the candy apple red, Coronado Fender Guitar.
To remember the occasion, they give guests a collectable pin and limited edition hat featuring the “I Got Plugged In @ Hard Rock Hotels”
Pump Up the Volume
If playing a fender guitar isn’t enough, one can turn their room into a mini nightclub with the Mix program. Just call the front desk for in-room delivery, and choose from one of several Traktor Kontrol Z1 Systems. They even provide an iPad to experience the next wave of mixing technology and video lessons to assist guests who have yet to spin. I had the chance to play around with one in the lobby with the assistance of Scratch DJ Academy who showed me how it worked. It was interesting hearing all the different sounds you could make by slowing down the record or spilling it the opposite direction. I’m a DJ now, I put a record on.
Memorabilia, memorabilia
One of the things that I was really looking forward to was the personalized VIP memorabilia tour of all the pieces around the property. Hard Rock historian Jeff Nolan give us a VIP exclusive tour inside the vault, where they store all the priceless memorabilia collection of over 80,000+ items. It’s the largest music memorabilia collection in the world, and they rotate the collection to allow guest to see new pieces throughout all their properties.
The collection was started by Eric Clapton, who was a regular customer at the original Hard Rock Cafe London. He asked the staff if he could hang his guitar on the wall to mark his favorite bar stool as “his spot”. They did, and one week later, a package from The Who’s Peter Townshend arrived with a guitar and a note bearing the message, “Mine’s as good as his! Love, Pete.
Eat It
The Hard Rock Hotel Orlando has several dining options to choose from during one’s stay. The Palm Steakhouse is open for dinner. Once done with dinner, one can linger for cocktails at the ultra-hip Velvet Bar for an evening night cap. The Kitchen is open for both breakfast and dinner with walls adorned with culinary-themed memorabilia from the Hard Rock Hotel’s many celebrity guests. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet and their assortment of fresh fruit in the morning.
Grab a poolside snack at the beachclub, or enjoy some award-winning ice cream at Emack & Bolio’s Marketplace while staying here! Room service is always an option for those late night cravings.
Here Comes the Sun
After a day in the park, or jamming away you’ll need to take some time off by the pool. The Hard Rock’s 12,000 square foot pool is the place to relax and unwind. The zero entry pool features a sand beach, water slide, children’s play area, and an adjacent beach volleyball court as well as cabanas available to rent surrounding the pool. They even have underwater speakers blasting music to enjoy the tunes making swimming underwater more enjoyable.
The Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando was just out of this world!! I couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay, and really enjoyed being a rock star for a few nights with “The Sound of My Stay” experience. If you’re traveling with kids it’s definitely worth the extra dollars to get those express passes to the park with your stay. One of the best things about the hotel is its location, only a 5 minute walk from Universal Studios and City Walk.

June 3, 2016 at 3:23 pmI think it’s a great experience especially for older kids and even adults. My kids would of loved this experience. Hopefully, we get a chance to go back this year so they can try it out themselves.

Carmen Edelson
June 4, 2016 at 10:22 pmI had to bring home some of the chocolate because it was too much for me to eat by myself. I really enjoyed the guitar experience and now want to take music lessons to learn how to play one better.

June 4, 2016 at 9:57 amThis is incredible! I’ve never heard of anything like it – such a brilliant idea for a rock star theme. And I’m super digging the guitar chocolate … as well as the pool. The pool is HUGE! Staying here on our next trip to Orlando – thanks for the review!
Carmen Edelson

June 4, 2016 at 12:50 pmThat sounds like a really fantastic package. It’s great that hotels are really thinking about what visitors might want and giving the extra value. The rooms look really nice too. A comfortable and fun place to stay.
Carmen Edelson
June 4, 2016 at 10:36 pmI agree I think it’s important for hotels to accommodate their guest with unique experiences. I know my kids when we travel hang out in the room watching TV when they are bored. At the Hard Rock they would probably not want to leave the room, and play with the guitar & mixing equipment without complaining about it.
Nancy
June 4, 2016 at 12:51 pmWow – The Sound of Your Stay seems like a really cool experience if you are into music. I haven’t stayed at a Hard Rock property but Hard Rock Orlando seems like an excellent property given the amenities and location.

Carmen Edelson
June 5, 2016 at 10:49 amI remember when they started it was more about people going to see the music memorabilia on the walls and getting something to eat in the cafes. Now it’s an upscale hotel with all the amenities.

Carmen Edelson
June 5, 2016 at 10:53 amThanks Amy! I have three kids that are young adults now. When we travel I’m always looking for rooms that can accommodate all three of them in one room. My double room was just the right size for them.

June 5, 2016 at 8:15 amInteresting idea. Probably not for me, since I’m not all that into music. But perhaps others would be interested.
Carmen Edelson
June 5, 2016 at 10:58 amI’m sure you could find something to do around the property that isn’t music related, or just hang by the pool.

June 5, 2016 at 9:46 amSoooo I’ve eaten at a ton of Hard Rock Cafe’s and I had no idea they had a hotel chain? Lol? Jeez. It looks fantastic though, gotta love goodies being left for you in your room!

June 5, 2016 at 3:48 pmI collect HRC shotglasses and have about 30 different ones, even from places that don’t exist anymore. However, I’ve never stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel for some reason. I should definitely do that once I’m in a place they have one. I was in Orlando loooong ago and didn’t even make it to the cafe, still a shame…
Carmen Edelson
June 6, 2016 at 11:53 amIf you collect shot glasses then you definitely need to make your way to a Hard Rock Hotel and buy one there.
Danielle Des
June 5, 2016 at 9:07 pmUpon arrival does everyone get the chocolate sweets? I would love that!

June 6, 2016 at 11:54 amI’m not sure if everyone get the chocolate sweets like I did, but I’m sure they do someone similar for the guest.
