A 3-Step Guide to the Perfect Travel Beauty Kit

BEAUTY + FASHION, LIFESTYLE

Whether it’s for business or pleasure, traveling can be an exciting experience. However, as it takes you away from your beloved vanity set, packing a beauty kit that caters to all your needs can be a daunting task. Not only do you have to worry about whether you’ve brought all the items you’ll need, but you have to consider shape, size, and weight to ensure that it’s compact and comprehensive.

With an estimated 32 million single women traveling at least once in the last year, and a third of that more than five times, according to the Travel Industry Association, packing right is becoming vital and as women, beauty products are a big part of that. So how do we build the perfect travel beauty kit? Try following these three steps so you don’t forget anything on your next trip.

Start With The Perfect Travel Beauty Bag

Packing your products in the right bag is the best for you to ensure you include as many items as possible, as well as ensuring your own convenience. There’s nothing worse than having to leave behind that one product because there was no space, or rummaging through your bag and making a mess just to find an item. Try picking a bag that accommodates for traveling — it should be a good size and include various pockets and sections to make it easy for you to find products.

Add Essentials

  1. Moisturizer

Whether it’s because of the plane trip, excessive movement or dry heat, traveling makes your skin more susceptible to dryness. Try including body moisturizer, face lotion, hand cream and lip balm in your kit to make sure your skin is always healthy, and try and make sure they’re natural like the G&H collection by Amway, as this will be lighter on the skin.

  1. BB cream

BB cream is great for traveling as it combines three essentials — moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation. What a great way to save space in your luggage.

  1. Face Wash

With the change in environment from traveling, your skin can suffer. Fight against impurities and stay refreshed with a trusty daily face wash.

  1. Deodorant

This is a must in your travel kit, as you never know where your day will lead when traveling. G&H by Amway have a great roll-on deodorant that will fit perfectly in your travel kit and protects against impurities, wetness, and odors. Try following Amway on Instagram to get the latest on their products.

  1. Tweezers and Nail Kit

Commonly forgotten, tweezers and a nail kit are a must for any women, especially if you’re traveling for business. You can take care of your eyebrows, face, fingers, and toes by packing these two essentials.

  1. Essential Makeup Item

Everyone has one or two makeup items that they can’t live without. Depending on your style and complexion, this could be eyeliner, mascara, concealer or anything else so don’t forget it for your trip.

Add a Couple Non-Essentials

  1. Non-Essential Make-Up Items

You already have your foundation or BB cream and the one or two makeup items as your essentials for everyday use. If you have space, add those couple of extra things like eyeshadow, blush or even nude lipstick if you feel like you may use it on a special night out.

  1. Perfume

With long days working or exploring a new place, smelling good is important for anyone. Make sure the perfume is in travel size bottles and only pack it in your carry on to avoid getting it thrown out at security.

Ensuring you pack all your beauty needs can be a difficult task when traveling. Follow this guide to building your essential beauty kit and never forget something on a trip again.

I always pack the smallest sample sizes I can find for traveling. I also like to take the conditioner that comes with my home dye kit, because it’s good quality conditioner and it’s travel size!

Great tips! I’m usually don’t pack too much beauty products when traveling, but deodorant, cleanser, and colored chapstick is a must!

All good reminders. We have been traveling a lot lately and I find it’s all the little items that you need to take that become annoying to pack and unpack. The phone chargers, the camera chargers, the toiletries and makeup. All these things literally take up an entire bag. Just returning from a 12 day trip to the Northern part of Spain I took small toiletry items that would run out at the end of the trip and give me a few less things to have to return with. I have also come to the conclusion that I need less make up than I end up bringing. For me, if I have eyeliner, mascara and lipstick, it’s all I need. The other notation that I have concluded is that unless you are traveling to a remote spot, if you forgot something you can always buy it once you land.

Thanks for your lovely comment, Dana! I’m the same – I always end up using less makeup.

You’ve listed all of my essentials, for sure! I have never tried bb cream though, maybe I’ll have to look in to it. Is it an alternative for foundation altogether, or used in combination with it?

Definitely a lighter alternative! Hope you like it, Katie.

A nail kit is such a good suggestion! 🙂 I can’t tell you how many times I have chipped a nail & didn’t have a nail file with me while traveling.

Agree! I remember a few years ago when I started traveling I would overpack, now I take what I need. If I need something I go pay it at the store.

Ah! Very useful tip. But I’ll switch BB cream to CC Cream instead (like IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with 50+ spf), since it is full coverage. So no concealer is needed. Wish it comes with more shade ranges though.
