Rise Gear luggage maximizes efficiency for people on the go. This efficient suitcase has collapsible shelves that fit inside each bag and can be conveniently hung up at your destination. It’s like traveling with a suitcase containing a built-in closet.
I travel often and have always disliked getting to a hotel and having to constantly dig around my suitcase for everything. The clothes always get wrinkled, and in the end my dirty clothes get mixed up with my clean clothes, a huge pet peeve of mine.
The concept of the Rise Luggage bags peeked my interest from the start. I was provided with the RISE Slider Carry-on Bag with Collapsible Shelves to review and I have to say, it has made packing for my trips much more enjoyable!
The suitcase comes with plenty of storage space. It has two zipper side pockets on either side. The outside pocket is padded and can hold a 15” laptop, keeping it safe during your travels. The suitcase measures 22′ height by 14′ width and 9′ depth. It weights 10 pounds, or 4.5 kgs. The wheels roll smoothly (I hate when my luggage makes that clicking sound!) and the strong metal telescoping extension handle makes it easy to maneuver on any surface. They even throw in interchangeable unique colour cards to add your own personal flare to your bag.
The History Behind the Rise Gear
While in college, Lee Henshaw, like many of us, was traveling so often that he found himself living out of a duffle bag. Sick of having to constantly dig through a messy bag of wrinkled clothes, he set out to develop a solution that would solve this problem.
After teaching himself how to sew, the prototype featuring a built-in shelving system and hamper to separate laundry from clean clothes was born. Lee along with his brother, Sean, are revolutionizing the travel industry with their solutions for modern travelers.
How it Works
The RISE slider fits inside the suitcase with its collapsible shelving system. The slider shelving unit is detachable from the bag, and is equipped with two hanger hooks that allow you to easily hang it up in a closet. If there’s no room in your closet you can easily hang it over a door way. The collapsible shelving system has 3 shelves and a bottom compartment to be used as a laundry compartment.
Keep Organized with the RISER Shelves
Here’s a crash course on the most efficient way to use your new favorite travel bag: the expanding RISER shelves keep you organized, since they’re deployable, you can lift them right out of your bag and hang it a closet or a door.
When you get to the hotel room, simply pull the shelve out from your suitcase and hang it in your closet. All your clothes are neatly laid out for you and ready to go!
The top shelf has a zipper compartment where you can store two pair of shoes, or your toiletries. I used it for shoes, and when I arrived at the hotel, I left my shoes sitting on top of it.
The first shelf is divided into two pockets. One of the pockets can easily fit a couple pairs of socks either folded or rolled. The other pocket can be used for underwear or bras.
The middle shelf can be used for shirts and can easily store (five to seven) shirts. You can fold them or roll them-by-side. I piled mine on top of each other. The bottom shelf can accommodate either pants or sweaters.
No more looking for places to store your dirty laundry, or throwing your clothes on the floor. The bottom compartment is a laundry bag. You can put your dirty clothes in the bag at the bottom and keep them separated from your clean clothes. That way when your ready to wash them when you get home, you know where everything is.
Since everything stays in your RISE gear during your trip, simply lower the shelves back into your suitcase and you’re all done! Make sure to check out all the different styles of bags they have to offer in their collection.
I’m giving away a FREE RISE Gear Jumper bag, which is a great weekend bag.

June 29, 2016 at 8:18 pmHi! I’ve just subscribed and I shared this post on G+ here: https://plus.google.com/113521871573363100834/posts/PgLvywqgswh
This is my first time hearing about Rise but let me tell you- I am drooling over this organization system. Every time we travel, everyone’s things end up getting mixed with everyone else’s and it’s just a total mess. I think the Rise gear would help out alot, especially with 3 young kids. Love the history behind the company too! Thanks for the chance; so glad to have found your review!

June 29, 2016 at 8:23 pmI just returned from a trip and used the collapsable shelving unit to store all my clothes, and love it. All I had to do was hang the shelving unit and I was ready to go.

June 30, 2016 at 12:02 amI not a fan of anything other than my hiking pack (which looks really classy when I have to unroll slacks from it), but this luggage looks kind of awesome, especially as I start to do more professional trips.

June 30, 2016 at 11:04 amThis luggage bag looks great. I always things sorted out differently but in a normal suitcase, they all get mixed up and wrinkled. The most selling idea is where you can simply pull the shelve out from your suitcase and hang it in your closet.

June 30, 2016 at 3:42 pmThe shelve is wonderful because when your done with your trip you just unhook it and it folds back into your suitcase.

June 30, 2016 at 3:16 pmDone!! We travel with our small 3.5 pound dog and was just thinking how convenient it would be for him to have his own “shelf”.
Carmen Edelson
June 30, 2016 at 3:44 pmI never thought about using one of the shelfs for my dog’s stuff, but that would definitely be useful as well.

July 2, 2016 at 3:33 amI’ve recently started using packing cubes and LOVE how much more organized it makes me (no more tossing clothes everywhere all over the room trying to find that one pair of socks!) So I could see how this would be a great suitcase!!!

July 2, 2016 at 5:33 pmThis bag comes in very handy when you’re trying to find your socks. Just keep them all in one of the slots, and you’re done.

July 2, 2016 at 11:58 amVery cool suit case. It would be great when packing only a carry on, I wish I had something like this when I was talking business trips every couple of weeks, it would have made life a lot easier.
Carmen Edelson
July 2, 2016 at 5:40 pmThis would be an ideal carry-on bag for business travelers on the go. When you get to your room, you just hang the shelving organizer in the closet and you’re good to go.

July 3, 2016 at 1:26 amSuch a fantastic idea and a great piece of luggage to add to the arsenal. Quite a clever concept isn’t it. I’m going to have to check out their range to see what they offer for carry on, for times you don’t want to check luggage.

September 5, 2016 at 1:01 pmI love the idea of this luggage especially since my husband books us in various hotels during our trips, even if we are staying in the same city. (He likes to get a different POV hotel wise.) This means I rarely get to UNpack! This would solve that issue. Thanks
Carmen Edelson
September 5, 2016 at 7:14 pmI like how you can just put all your clothes in the organizer, hang it up when you arrive, and drop it back into the suitcase when you’re done.

October 9, 2016 at 2:30 pmI received the Rise suitcase for Christmas last year and I finally used it for a work training trip which would turn into a Chicago trip over the weekend. A week’s worth of clothes and shoes and beauty products fit perfectly in the bag without overstuffing and I was able to check it in at the airport with no problems. What I did find I had issues with were the wheels. The wheels weren’t sturdy enough to hold the weight of the frame of the suitcase along with what I had packed and they inevitably started bowing out, causing my back to scrape on the ground. I now have a hole in my bag, which I plan on getting fixed, but only if the company has more sturdy wheels I can buy (still waiting for their reply on this). If not, the bag is getting trashed and I’m going back to using my Samsonite.
Carmen Edelson
October 9, 2016 at 9:49 pmSorry to hear that you had issues with the wheels. I’m sure the company will do the right thing and replace your suitcase.

December 5, 2017 at 1:07 pmMy son will be studying abroad next semester and I wondered if you thought that any of the bags would be large enough for him. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate your input!
Thanks
