Living in Fort Lauderdale, we have many choices on where to dine. On special occasions like an anniversary or a birthday celebration, I want to go somewhere quiet, intimate, and of course with an ocean view. Two of my favorite waterfront restaurants here in Fort Lauderdale, which I consider the height of romance on the water are Ocean2000 and The Secret Garden.
Whether they are ready for it or not, special events arrive. Birthdays, anniversaries and so on. It’s a lot of pressure and a chance to score big or to disappoint. Sure, you can buy a card, pick up some supermarket roses, or snag a box of chocolates and call it a day, but your birthday or anniversary are supposed to be special, a day to let your inner romantic come out to play. And you better believe your special someone will compare notes with friends and colleagues the following morning. So I’m here to help you plan the romance when it’s your chance to turn up the romance for your special someone.
It’s time to step up your game, and what better way than by wooing the love of your life – or current fling – with good food and wine and great atmosphere.
From cozy and casual to superluxe, here are the height of romance restaurants in Broward with a water view.
Ocean2000 Restaurant, Pelican Grand Beach Resort
First, the atmosphere is superb. Sitting on a patio with the ocean right below. Waves are crashing and the breeze whispering through the palm trees. Simple but elegant place settings, wicker chairs and candle lit patio. Eating beachside under the stars. You can dine outside and enjoy the spectacular view of the beach if the heat allows but if not, the swank interior is a sight in itself. Ocean2000 is a favorite of mine for lunch, dinner or their famous Sunday brunch. The menu is very reasonably priced.

The Secret Garden, The Pillars Hotels
The Pillars Hotel one of my favorite places to go for that perfectly intimate and relaxing dining experience at The Secret Garden, The Pillars private dining venue gives you the option to have your food served in our elegant dining room or at a table overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, where you can watch the luxury yachts cruise by. They spoil you with delightful food and attentive service. The Secret Garden is an exclusive experience since reservations can only be made by hotel guests or members of the hotel’s dining club.

April 8, 2015 at 5:33 pmHi Lauren,
These are my favorite two restaurants to dine. Something about eating and looking out into the water that does it for me.
