Discover Florence’s Best Luxury Hotel: Hotel Lungarno

As of June 21, 2021, American tourists can now travel to Italy for the first time in over a year! To celebrate, you should definitely plan a trip to the gorgeous capital of Italy’s Tuscany region: Florence. Thanks to its world-renowned Renaissance art and architecture, this city is a feast for the eyes. If you’re looking for a 5-star hotel in Florence that is perfectly situated in the city center, look no further than Hotel Lungarno.

Five-Star Accommodation in Florence:

Located directly across from the popular medieval Ponte Vecchio bridge, Hotel Lungarno is an elegant riverside hotel in the middle of Florence. The location is just perfect if you want to easily access all that the city has to offer on foot. Hotel Lungarno has been around for over 50 years and they recently completed a six-month renovation! Without sacrificing the old-world charm that this luxury property is known for, you can expect exceedingly fresh and beautiful interiors from every corner.

One of the most unique and stunning aspects of Hotel Lugano is their lobby which reflects the style of an upscale boat, and thanks to the ideal location, it appears as if the hotel is floating on the Arno River. And with the grand history of Hotel Lugano, the walls certainly have many stories to tell. Their recently updated art collection includes an impressive 450 works of art that you can find throughout the hotel, including inside their restaurants and suites.

Hotel Lungarno’s Luxury Rooms:

Speaking of rooms, Hotel Lungarno offers 65 luxury rooms and suites. My recommendation would be to book one of their rooms with a lovely terrace that opens up to the magnetic city of Florence. With such a superb location, you might as well treat yourself to a great view from your bedroom so that you can ensure a memorable stay!

There is such a great variety of rooms to choose from at Hotel Lungarno too. Whether you are staying in a standard room or a suite, you can expect fantastic views of either the city or the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio. Each room is also filled with so much natural light and tastefully chosen furniture and decor. And as I mentioned before, you will be treated to artwork on the walls ranging from Picasso and Cocteau to other famous Italian artists.

And if you are looking for more room beyond their typical suites, I would suggest booking the Studio Suite River View or Family Room which can accommodate 3-4 guests. But if you are traveling with an even bigger group and celebrating a special occasion, you can choose from either the Arno Executive Floor or Panorama Executive Floor which house 9-15 guests! All of the luxurious rooms at Hotel Lungarno are the perfect home-away-from-home with comfortable furnishings, modern amenities, incredible views and more.

Dining at Hotel Lungarno:

It is no surprise that travelers from all around the world visit Italy for one very important reason…food! Thankfully, you do not have to wander far from Hotel Lungarno to find excellent food. In fact, they have two delicious options right inside the hotel.

While staying at Hotel Lungarno, or if you’re just visiting for the day, my suggestion would be to first enjoy an aperitivo at Picteau Bistrot & Bar. Reservations are required and you will not be disappointed with their outdoor seating, city views, and 20th century artwork. The cocktail bar menu at Picteau Bisrot was designed by talented Italian bartenders Marco Colonnelli and Vincenzo Civita, along with signature Mediterranean dishes in the bistro by the Michelin starred Chef Claudio Mengoni.

And speaking of Michelin-star dining, head on over for dinner to Hotel Lungarno’s award-winning restaurant: Borgo San Jacopo. You can also expect beautiful views of the River Arno here while you enjoy one of the best fine dining experiences that Florence has to offer! At Borgo San Jacopo, Chef Claudio Mengoni authentically cooks with fresh and innovative ingredients. His creativity and flavors beautifully come together to create memorable dishes on his two tasting menus. I highly recommend the risotto with sea urchins, any of the seasonal vegetable dishes, and even the unique porcini mushroom ice cream and fig molasses for dessert.

So what are you waiting for? Italy is calling your name and Hotel Lungarno is the perfect luxury hotel in Florence to kickstart your Italian adventures post-pandemic.
