Nashville is the city to visit these days! For the past few years now, Travel + Leisure Magazine has listed Music City as one of the “best places to go” and I definitely agree. Even if you’re not a country music fan, there is so much to enjoy in this city. On my recent visit, I stayed at the beautiful Fairlane Hotel located in the heart of downtown.

Hotel Overview:
With only 81 rooms, this boutique hotel opened in the spring of 2018, making it one of the newer additions to the city. This former bank building from the 60s has transformed into a stylish, mid-century modern hotel offering luxury accommodation with contemporary amenities. Their impeccable, five-star service is immediately noticeable with the smiling doormen and friendly check-in staff. We were offered water bottles while waiting for our room keys, and everyone was so welcoming and helpful. They truly want you to have an amazing stay and possess a wealth of information about the city and the best places to visit.

While walking through the lobby, on the way to our room, I couldn’t help but admire the sleek interiors with stunning artwork on the walls. There is a timeless feel to the decor and fans of the hit television show Mad Men will absolutely love the Fairlane Hotel’s style.
Corner King Room:
The first thing I noticed about my beautiful Corner King Room were the high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which wrapped around half of the bedroom. Natural light is so important to me so this was just a joy to experience. These windows also open up the room, even though it’s already very spacious to begin with.

Everything about the interior decor is stylish, yet functional. For example, the euro-top king bed is just as comfortable as it is practical with a custom arm rest in the middle. This is something I hadn’t seen before in a hotel, and I quite enjoyed having this divider during the non-sleeping hours if I wanted to read (with a built-in reading light) or have a drink since there are also cup holders in the arm rest. You can lift this up to close and it then becomes part of the headboard when it’s time to sleep.

I found the bathroom to be equally as spacious with plenty of counter space, a separate area for the toilet, and an expansive, walk-in marble shower. Plush bathrobes and slippers are provided as well which is always a nice touch. Along with luxe Five Wits bath amenities, they also went above and beyond and provided useful items such as cotton balls, q-tips, makeup removing wipes, and more.

I absolutely loved the cozy corner area in the bedroom, with a polka dot chair, gold reading lamp, and view of the entrance to Printer’s Alley. This is the perfect spot for an Instagrammable moment! Speaking of Printer’s Alley, this is a famous alley in downtown Nashville which can be found between 3rd and 4th Avenue. Back in the early 1900s, this was home to a successful publishing industry, consisting of two large newspapers, several print shops and over a dozen publishers. However, it became the home of a nightclub district in the 1940s. Even now, there are still several bars you can visit with fun neon signage.
Dining Options:
At the Fairlane Hotel, you have two fantastic dining options to choose from that are quite varied.
Union Teller can be found near the entrance of the lobby, filled with natural light, original fixtures, comfortable seating, and an oasis of plants. This is a very inviting and intimate space to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a quick coffee. Before checking out on our last day, we had a delicious breakfast here. Both their Eggs Benedict and Avocado Toast are generous in size and flavor.

Also, upon check-in, we learned that there isn’t a coffee machine in our room, however, we can use coffee vouchers in the lobby at Union Teller. We were given plenty of vouchers for our stay which we happily used and enjoyed freshly-brewed Stumptown Coffee. It was no problem to go down there every morning to collect our coffee, however, they did offer to bring it up for us as well!

For a more upscale affair, I suggest dining at Ellington’s located on the 4th floor of the hotel. Although we didn’t have time to eat here, I heard they offer a great happy hour. We did pop in to see the wonderful outdoor seating that is offered on their wraparound terrace. If the weather is behaving, this is the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air with great views and fire pits for when the sun sets. The mid-century, Mad Men theme continues here with the decor and vibe at Ellington’s.
Conclusion:

The Fairlane Hotel is one of those places that just ticks all the boxes for me when it comes to a weekend getaway in a bustling city. The location is perfect and within walking distance of famous landmarks such as the Broadway District, Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame and more. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we felt so taken care of and welcome at the Fairlane. Our room was not only spacious, but had that perfect combination of practical amenities, stylish surroundings, and luxurious features. I certainly plan on returning to the Fairlane Hotel on my next visit to Nashville!
