Located about a 90 minute drive up the coast from my home in Fort Lauderdale, the Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa made for the perfect staycation! I am so lucky to live in a state where I have incredible options for beach getaways. The Treasure Coast is a beautiful stretch of sand along Floridaās east coast where you can find tranquil sand and rich history. AAA Four-Diamond Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is nestled north of Palm Beach, on this Treasure Coast, with easy access to iconic museums and attractions.
However, there is no reason to leave the resort once you arrive. With delicious coastal cuisine, a luxurious spa, multiple pools, and contemporary accommodation, why would anyone want to leave?!
Before even entering the hotel, I was so happy to find I could charge my Tesla car at the the hotel’s charging station. There is also an area where joggers can grab a drink of water and a wash cloth towel to cool off after a morning or night jog. Both are such nice touches!
Upon arrival, I was greeted with a living greenery wall in the impressive lobby, along with a grand glass swordfish sculpture suspended from the vaulted ceiling. I loved both features, as well as the natural, coastal tones, bold stripes, and touches of driftwood. This well thought out design fits in perfectly with the resortās surroundings.
My Accommodations at Hutchinson Resort & Spa
All 178 guest rooms and suites entice visitors with relaxing vibes thanks to their crisp linens, nautical decor, and modern amenities. I was beyond happy to be staying in an Oceanfront Room with a king sized bed and stylish sleeper sofa. This was my very own luxury oasis with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean. I could enjoy these views perfectly from my large private lanai from sunrise to sunset.
Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is part of the Opal Collection, a luxurious collection of hotels along the East Coast. In my modern and roomy bathroom, I loved the large overhead and tiled shower. The granite countertops provided plenty of space for my things, as well as the Opal Collectionās line of decadent NEST toiletries which smelled amazing.
In my room, I enjoyed having the extra space to sit in the living area on the sofa, or at the long desk. It was also very convenient to have a Keurig coffee maker machine to use in the mornings.
A special feature they have on each floor, instead of your typical ice machine, is a fully stocked pantry. Here you can find individually packaged grab-and-go ice and bottled water throughout the day. I especially enjoyed when they stocked it with fresh fruit and deliciously warmed chocolate chip cookies in the evenings. Little touches like these make Hutchinson Resort stand out!
Pool and Beach Area
In terms of lounging by the water and swimming, you have plenty of choices here! The resort is located right on Jensen Beach so guests have direct access to sand, sun, and endless beach activities. This beach is very quiet, and feels peacefully remote. I enjoyed flying my drone around to get some epic coastal shots without a busy beach crowd.
If youāre more of a pool person, Hutchinson Resort and Spa has two! The Reflections Pool is perfect for families, as it offers a sun-drenched pool deck complete with a hot tub and Pool Bar. Poolside pergolas are available for daily rentals and provide an outdoor living space design, complete with lounge furniture.
I also enjoyed the Dune Pool, a more secluded beachside heated pool which is centrally located in front of Drift Kitchen & Bar, overlooking the ocean.
Dining and Bars
Speaking of restaurants, I enjoyed most of my meals at Drift Kitchen + Bar during my stay on Jensen Beach. This is a contemporary place to eat which features both an upscale, al fresco and indoor dining environment with ocean views! Their menu is based on the guidelines of fresh, local, and lively. It offers Italian specialities with just-plucked-from-the-sea offerings. It is conveniently open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner.
For our first night at the restaurant, we indulged in a delicious steak dinner which was cooked to perfection with a side of asparagus. Our meal was so good that we did not hesitate in coming back the next day for lunch where I ordered their flavorful and fresh fish tacos.
Breakfast is also served in the morning, buffet style, giving guests so many amazing choices to pick from. You can also order items off of the menu, giving you the best of both worlds!
The Spa at Hutchinson Shores ResortĀ
If dining and lounging by the beach isnāt relaxing enough, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa also provides guests with an all-encompassing wellness experience with their full fitness studio and Opal Spa. Ā I chose a 50 minute Swedish Massage with one of their expertĀ masseuse, and I left feeling beyond relaxed and rejuvenated, as you should while on vacation! The space is light and bright with lovely touches such as tasty macaroons in the relaxation room.
Thereās no shortage of adventurous activities at Jensen Beach! You can choose from golf, cycling, scuba diving, surfing and kayaking. Hutchinson Shores Resort has a well-rounded weekly activities program that is so interactive and inspiring for guests who are looking to create fun memories. From sandcastle building contests to sunrise yoga, there is truly something for everyone. I highly recommend visiting between May and October if you want to see the precious sea turtles. Many are endangered and make their way to over 35 miles of the sprawling Atlantic Coast to lay their eggs for nesting season.
Sadly, artificial lighting near shorelines attracts hatchlings, causing them to become disoriented and go in the opposite direction of the ocean. However, at Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa, they feel a responsibility to protect these beloved marine creatures. Their lighting was specifically designed to be turtle-friendly, meaning that no white light is visible from the beach.
I highly recommend staying at Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa if youāre looking for a relaxing beach getaway! Luckily, I donāt live too far away so I will most certainly be visiting again.

It’s so close to home in Orlando but gives us access to St Lucie and Jupiter scuba diving and snorkeling on Bathtub Reef. We were planning to go diving in Jupiter in five weeks and this would make the perfect home base for the trip. What a great find and the spa looks heavenly.

That room looks absolutely plush and perfect, and I love the little touches life the jogging station, the fresh cookies and the macaroons at the spa. My favourite part, however, has to be the lighting system adapted for the sea turtles. I love to see large hotel chains making small adjustments for the surrounding environment, I hope we keep seeing more places keep these options in mind.

But it will take some time as I’m undergoing hair removal treatment from Foye MD & Spa in Houston, TX. Once I’m ready after a couple of more sessions, I’m surely gonna head there.
