5 Luxury Destinations in Europe for a Romantic Getaway

When planning a romantic getaway heading off to a secluded island resort isn’t everyone’s idea of romantic. With Europe being home to some of the most beautiful islands and stunning cities in the world, here’s 5 luxury destinations within Europe for you to enjoy a romantic break:

Beautiful white buildings, endless cobbles, delicious cheese boards and spending your nights drinking Merlot in quaint Montmatre cafes, Paris is known as the city of love for a reason. Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Laudree on the Champs De Elysee with some gourmet macaroons for desert then saunter down to the Jardin Des Tuilieres and admire the beauty of the city.

Rome + The Amalfi Coast

Not a city to be discounted as simply for art fans and history enthusiasts, Rome is most certainly a city for lovers. Enchanting, unspoilt and charming, Rome is both culturally and visually stunning. With candle lit tables for two in sun soaked piazzas, it’s the perfect city to indulge in delicious food and copious amounts of prosecco to celebrate your wedding. After a whirlwind city break, head to the Amalfi coast afterwards with Exsus Travel to extend your holiday in the picturesque towns enjoying some of Italy’s most beautiful views.

Breath-taking views, luxurious hotels, and idyllic white buildings shaping the landscape, Santorini is one of the most romantic locations in the world for sun seekers. Sip champagne watching the sun go down on one of the most photographed hills in the world before heading back for a dip in the infinity pool overlooking the bay.

Beautiful Barcelona is a wonderful honeymoon destination for couples who like to do it all. From the vibrant nightlife to spending days on the sun drenched beach to sampling some of Europe’s best shopping and some wonderful architecture. A trip to the Sagrada Familla is a must, along with heading to Park Guell to check out the wonderful mosaics.

Guell Park in Barcelona

A city chosen by the one and only George Clooney for his wedding, Venice is most certainly on of the most luxury honeymoon locations in Europe. Enjoy a leisurely ride through the back street canals on a Gondola then chill out with an ice cold glass of the finest prosecco from Harry’s Bar in St Mark’s Square.

I’ve visited Venice several times with my husband and kids. We love strolling around the little side streets and finding new restaurants and shops to explore. Have a great time in Venice!

Drool… I love everything on this list, but Santorini is the spot I’ve been most aching to go. Every photo if it is out of this world.

We loved Santorini! We spend three days in Oia, and it was very relaxing and of course very romantic. The sunsets at night are out of this world.

Somehow none of these places occurred to me as a luxury destination, I guess that’s because they are rather close to me and I’ve been to them all. Oh no wait, not to Santorini but I was close. Loved them all, although I’d definitely avoid Venice in the summer 🙂

I can see that if you live near by. It’s the same for us here. People come from all over the world to spend a few days in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. I’ve never been to Venice in the summer, only in the fall or springtime.

In my mind nothing beats Paris – I keep meaning to go back because I remember finding the roof restaurant at the top of Pretempts and want to go back and take some pictures. Very romantic!
