Looking to Summer in Cape Cod? Here’s 5 Things You Should Do Right Now

TRAVEL, UNITED STATES, VILLA & VACATION HOMES

Summer in the Cape, is there any better destination?  If there is, we’ve yet to see it.  From the beautiful beaches to the quaint towns and great weather, the region is one of the most popular vacation destinations on the East Coast for good reason.  Due to the high demand, you have move early if you want to grab the perfect property.  Here are some tips for planning the ideal summer in Cape Cod:

Decide on a Budget

This is vital.  Before diving in and booking a home, plan out a budget for the entire summer to determine exactly how much you can spend on the rental.  Make sure to factor in daily average spending and any big, planned events or parties, so the summer isn’t hindered by monetary worries late in the game.  Always use the more liberal spending estimates.  That way, any surplus at the end can be used for your Independence Day Party.  More on that later.

Think About Renting Your Home Out For the Summer

What if I were to tell you that your summer in Cape Cod could be free?  Or if not free, heavily discounted.  The massive savings would obviously be something to jump on immediately.  Well, if you live in the Boston area, you can get a serious rental fee for your home over the summer.  In many cases, it may be close to the price of your summer rental.  And in certain scenarios, it can even be more expensive.  It’s a great way to supplement the cost of your summer.  Give a local real estate agent a call and get the conversation started.

Book Early

The summer will be here before we know it, and Bostonians, New Englanders and other Cape enthusiasts nab up properties for the season very quickly.  So if you want the pick of the litter, you have to act now.  First decide on which a town, and then an ideal street or locale within the area.  Then check all the sites and see how far you can get on your own.  If it’s not happening for you, it’s time to grab a real estate agent.  Many of the more luxurious homes can only be booked through an agent.  And once you find a great place, jump on it! The good ones won’t hang around long.

Hire a Decorator

If you’ll be living in a home for the entire summer, and the design doesn’t quite suit you, you may want to put your unique stamp on it.  If you do, there’s no better way to do so then to hire an interior decorator and work with him/her to achieve your dream summer home.  If you’re spending the money on the rental you’ll want the space to feel like home, and adding some personal flares can help do the trick.

Plan Your July 4th Party!

Sure it may not be the end of the summer yet, but Independence Day is a great party day on the Cape.  If you plan to host, be sure to get supplies early, as the entire region is will be BBQing and celebrating that day/night.  Get those invites out and plan the festivities.

Cape Cod has always intrigued me and it’s no surprise that one should book early during the busy season. The 4th of July would be amazing here. Surfing with a kite looks to be the ultimate experience.
