The Windjammer Landings Beach Resort in St. Lucia is one of the best “All Inclusive” resorts that we have stayed in, especially according to our kids.
The villa style houses area situated on a hillside with stunning views of the oceans. They offer three and four bedroom villas which are ideal for families. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which came with a plunge pool. The accommodations are very spacious. It was like being at home. The views from the patio in the evening and early morning are breathtaking. The bedrooms in the villas have air conditioning but the kitchen/living area are open-air areas. If you prefer to stay in a fully air-conditioned suite then the Hibiscus suites are the way to go. They are very comfortable especially in the summer months.
The hotel provides a golf cart shuttle service that picks you up in front of the villas and takes you down the steep hill to the beach or restaurants. This makes room accessibility much easier. All you do is call them from your room phone and they show up a few minutes later. All throughout the day the golf carts shuttles are in service to take you back to your villa/room. Even if you’re in great shape it’s a workout to climb the hill.
The beach is enclosed, and in half-moon, so you can let your children ‘run free’ – enjoying the floating trampoline or climbing tower, the beach chess or table tennis, or even the motorised sports. You don’t have to move from the beach, just wave your flag when you’re ready for a drink. Everyday a local shows up on a boat selling fresh fruit. You can go water skiing a few times a day if you like. Go out on the banana boat ride, or go for a tube ride. Boats go out twice a day to take guest snorkeling. If you enjoy fishing, you can rent a boat for the day. My husband took the kids fishing and the restaurant cooked the fish we caught for dinner that night.
Restaurants at Windjammer– The restaurants are fantastic, we ate most of time at Jammers, and Emmers. It’s a more casual seaside restuarant . They have two other restaurants which are more upscale and reservations are required. Papa Don’s, a less casual (but not so formal) restaurant located further up the hill was my favorite. The food was wonderful and the views were amazing. If you’re a steak and seafood lover try “Upper Deck”.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Windjammer Landings Resort. We had a blast and will definitely return one day. If you’re looking for a day trip check out the only Drive in Volcano which is located in St. Lucia.

May 13, 2014 at 2:38 pmMy family and I recently traveled to this location and stayed here. One of the best family vacations we’ve had and a great resort for families with kids. There were lots of recreational activities on-site that are included with your meal plan (which we only purchased for 3 days because we like to go off the resort). The rooms were very nice and clean and the people quite friendly. You have 5 restaurants to choose from on the resort and the food is delicious.
We also booked 2 excursions: a Safari-style trip through the rainforest with a visit to the waterfall, lunch at the Pitons and return with catamaran including a snorkel stop. This one we highly recommend. The next was a one day trip to Martinique by boat. The travel time is 90 mins each way and it’s pretty bumpy so make sure you don’t get sea-sick on boats if you’re going to book this one. We only had about an hour stay on the island and would have preferred some more time but all in all, a nice experience.
A great destination for both relaxation and adventure! Thanks Carmen for the recommendation.

May 13, 2014 at 2:45 pmHi Mylene, I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed your vacation. I agree it can be a long bumpy ride from the airport, but once you get there it’s all worth it. Saint Lucia still remains one of my favorite islands to visit.
